Sensorless vector controller for a synchronous reluctance motor

Abstract: A new high-performance sensorless speed vector controller that implements the maximum torque per ampere control strategy for the inverter-driven synchronous reluctance machine is presented in this paper. It is based on a parameterdependent technique for on-line estimation of rotor position and angular velocity at the control rate. The current ripple principle is used to estimate position. The estimates are fed to a conventional closed-loop observer to predict the new position and angular velocity. The very hig… Show more

“…Normalean, sentsoreak erabiltzen dira posizio hori zehazteko, hala nola posizio-kodetzaile (encoder, ingelesez) absolutu edo erlatiboak eta kodetzaile angeluar analogikoak (resolver, ingelesez), besteak beste. Sentsore horien erabilerak makinaren kostua eta tamaina handitzen dute [32,33]. Horrez gain, momentu elektromagnetikoaren kontrola ezingo litzateke gauzatu hutsegite bat gertatzen bada posizio-sentsorean.…”

“…Furthermore, Maslen, Montie, and Iwasaki [6] argue that they are not able to achieve significant improvements in the output sensitivity function since an output disturbance near the frequency of the periodic perturbation γ sin (ωt) would destroy the ability of the controller to accurately determine the air gap. A similar technique has been utilized to determine rotor position in reluctance motors [7], [4], but as with self-sensing magnetic bearings a complete analysis of the robustness implications is presently lacking in the literature.…”

“…It is desired from the viewpoint of torque control for sensorless vector control systems for SynRM to orient the principal axis of the frame to the position of rotor salient pole similarly to sensor-used vector control systems [18, 10,11], although a method taking its orientation relative to the position of stator flux has been reported [9].…”
