Sequential application of interference therapy in chronic adnexitis

Abstract

Purpose of the study. Оf the research is to study the efficiency of sequential interference therapy with patients suffering from chronic adnexitis on an outpatient basis. Material and methods. The study included 78 patients with chronic adnexitis at the age of 18 to 49 years old. Using a simple sampling method we formed 2 groups: in group I (n = 40) the treatment complex was based on Russian clinical recommendations for chronic inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs with women and complex interference therapy; in II group (n = 38) — the women had only standard therapy. The criteria for the effectiveness of the treatment were the markers of pain and inflammation; dopplerometry of the ovarian arteries; the assessment of the quality of life criteria. Results. By the end of the course of rehabilitation treatment, the intensity of clinical manifestations with the patients of group I decreased on average by 2.5 times (p < 0.01), pain markers — by 1.8 times (p < 0.01), with between-group differences with a certainty of p <0.05. In group I the patients had a significant (p < 0.01) improvement in blood flow in the ovarian artery, with between-group differences with a certainty of p<0.05. The result analyses of long-term observations confirmed the high efficiency of the developed new technology for the rehabilitation treatment of women with chronic adnexitis: the patients of group I had more significant restoration of physical and mental health within 6 months (p < 0.05). Conclusion. The inclusion of sequential interference therapy in rehabilitation programmes for women with chronic adnexitis on an outpatient basis ensures a significant restoration of their quality of life.
