Serological biomarker testing helps avoiding unnecessary endoscopies in obese patients before bariatric surgery

Abstract: Background: To assess the value of serological biomarker testing as a substitute for esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGDS) in pre-operative assessment of patients referred for bariatric surgery.
