“…Bacteriological examination for the detection of flock infections on a practical basis is laborious, time-consuming, and expensive, especially when a statistically reliable number of faecal samples per flock is tested to confirm that a flock found bacteriologically negative for S. enteritidis is truly free of S. enteritidis [11].
