Abstract: Background: Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) is a known indicator of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Also, levels of HBV DNA, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg), and liver biopsy support clinical decision making.
