Serra da Jiboia: um patrimônio ameaçado

Abstract

Atualmente, discutir a problemática ambiental tem se tornado imprescindível. A Serra da Jiboia se encontra no Recôncavo Sul da Bahia -Brasil, em uma área de transição entre a Mata Atlântica e a Caatinga. A referida serra é rica em biodiversidade, inspirando atenção urgente, já que está ameaçada por atividades econômicas insustentáveis e pela negligência do poder público em todas as esferas. O presente trabalho é resultado de parte de uma tese doutoral defendida na Argentina, na Universidade Católica de Santa Fe, fruto de uma investigação bibliográfica e estudo de caso na Serra da Jiboia e nas escolas de Ensino Médio das cinco cidades que a envolvem. Teve como objetivo realizar uma caracterização do objeto de estudo e sua relevância reside em sua capacidade para compreender uma situação real e servir de incentivo para o desenvolvimento de políticas públicas voltadas para a questão ambiental e educacional comprometidas com as particularidades do território do Recôncavo Baiano. Este trabalho poderá servir como ponto de partida rumo à consolidação de um projeto de gestão educacional e de gestão ambiental integrada para uma tomada de consciência coletiva e cuidado do que ainda nos resta da serra, onde vivem muitas pessoas que necessitam diretamente de seu equilíbrio.Palavras-chave: Meio Ambiente. Caipora and the conservation of natural resources in tropical forests in the South Recôncavo region, Bahia State, Northeast Brazil
