“…Polymorphisms have been reported for serum albumin (Avise et al 1974;Jensen and Rasmussen 1971;Rasmussen 1968), esterase (Rasmussen 1968;Rasmussen and Jensen 1971), and transferrin (Rasmussen and Koehn 1966). Animals from Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, California, and Mexico (Durango and Sonora) exhibited the following polymorphic loci (most common alleles shown): ALB-1 97 , ALB-1 100 , TRF-1 113 , and IDH-1 110 (Avise et al 1974), with the mean percentage of polymorphic loci in these populations of P. boylii ranging from 0.05 to 1.0 and mean percentage of heterozygous loci per individual ranging from 0.08 to 3.0 (Avise et al 1974).…”
