Cancer is the second leading cause of death in Romania and worldwide. Cancer patients are at increasing risk of acquiring bacterial infection with multi-resistant germs, including multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains of Gram-negative bacteria involved in nosocomial infection. Romania is one of the South-Eastern European countries with one of the highest prevalence rates of MDR pathogens. To determine the resistance pattern of bacterial profile and antibiotic resistance pattern in cancer patients admitted at the County Emergency Clinical Hospital Craiova, Romania. A retrospective study of bacterial pathogens was carried out on 90 adult cancer patients admitted from January to December 2018. The analysis of the resistance patterns for the action of the appropriate antibiotics was performed using Vitek 2 Compact system and diffusion method. In this study there were analysed 92 samples from 90 oncological patients (37-86 years). A total of 157 bacterial isolates were obtained, of which 37 strains of Staphylococcus aureus (23.56%), followed by Streptococcus pneumoniae (23- 14.64%), Klebsiella spp. and Escherichia coli (22 - 14,01%). The most common isolates were from respiratory tract (86 isolates - 54.77%). High rates of MDR were found for E. coli (63.63%), MRSA (61,11%) and Klebsiella spp. (54,54%), while one third of the isolated strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter spp. and Proteus spp. were MDR. The findings of this study may be the basis for further more extensive studies highlighting the germs involved in the infectious pathology of cancer patients, in order to determine the antimicrobial resistance and to improve the methods of prophylaxis and treatment. Introduction. Anxiety and depression are frequently associated conditions in COPD patients, and have also significant impact on their quality of life (QoL) and on the course of the disease. Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is an adjuvant, non-pharmacological method used in symptomatic COPD patients. The study aimed to evaluate the impact of COPD on QoL depending on disease severity, and to assess the supposedly positive effects of a pulmonary rehabilitation program (PRP) for COPD patients. Material and method. This research included patients with COPD GOLD stages II-IV undergoing bronchodilator therapy. QoL was assessed with the self-administered St George's Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ), and depression with the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). PRP included 3-5 weekly physical training sessions for an average period of 12 weeks, but not less than 3 weeks. Results. The degree of QoL impairment was moderate in stage II (41.07) and severe in stages III (70.28) and IV (81.02). The most severe depression (score 26.6 vs 2.5 in healthy subjects) was also recorded in this group. After the patients underwent all PRP, QoL reassessment at 6 months revealed statistically significant improvements in all 3 groups (p <0.05). In the GOLD COPD stage II group the average reduction was-4.38 units, in the group GOLD COPD stage III-5.37 units, and in the GOLD COPD stage IV-6.75 units. The depression score correlated with the SGRQ score, both of them being higher in the severe stages of disease. BDI administered again 6 months after PRP revealed a significant improvement in average score in all groups, respectively a decrease of-2.17 units in the COPD II group,-2.03 units in the COPD III group and-1.88 units in group COPD IV B group. Conclusion. The results of this study demonstrate a favorable impact of PRP on improving COPD associated symptoms, depression, and QoL in all the 3 monitored COPD patient groups, with statistically significant and persistent positive results over time (6 months after completion of PRP).

To analyze the clinical characteristics of intestinal tuberculosis (ITB), pay attention to the diagnostic value of endoscopy and mucosal biopsy, improve the recognition of atypical manifestations of ITB under endoscopy, and reduce misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. The clinical data of 10 patients who were hospitalized in Changzhou second people's Hospital and finally diagnosed as ITB from January 1, 2015 to present were analyzed retrospectively. The basic information, medical history, clinical manifestations and computed tomography (CT), endoscopy of the patients was analyzed retrospectively. The results of pathological examination were analyzed and sorted out. Among the 10 patients, the ratio of male to female was 7:3, 10 (100%) had abdominal pain, 3 (30%) had diarrhea and 2 (20%) had bloody stool. The positive rate of tuberculosis T cell test was 75% (6/8), the diagnostic rate of chest high resolution CT was 60%, and the abnormal rate of abdominal high-resolution CT was 66.7% (6/9). Colonoscopy showed that the lesions mainly involved ileocecum (70%) and ascending colon (60%). Most of the lesions were intestinal stenosis (60%) and circular ulcer (50%). In a few cases, cold abscess (20%) and scar diverticulum (10%). Most of the pathological manifestations were granuloma formation and multinucleated giant cells (60%). The detection rate of caseous granuloma was 20%. The general condition and clinical manifestations of patients with ITB are not specific. Endoscopy and mucosal biopsy are of great significance for its diagnosis. The clinical manifestations and endoscopy of some patients showed atypical signs. Therefore, the combination of multi-disciplinary team models and the enhancement of clinician's recognition of the characteristics of endoscopic examination of ITB can improve us the diagnosis level of ITB.
