Serum Interleukin 4 and 6 Levels Measured Using the ELISA Method in Patients with Acquired Bronchiectasis Compared to Healthy Subjects. An anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory relation

Abstract: Evaluation of the inflammatory response based on the Interleukin 4 and Interleukin 6 levels in patients with acquired bronchiectasis (non-cystic fibrosis) and healthy controls. The study was conducted on a group of 77 subjects, divided into 2 lots: the first lot consisting of 57 patients with acquired bronchiectasis objectified by Computed Tomography and 20 healthy individuals. The serum Interleukins 4 and 6 levels were measured using the ELISA biochemical spectrophotometry test. The results are significant fr… Show more

“…Thus, besides dyspnea index, exercise capacity index, BODE index, Qol assessment is important as it reflects patient health status (20). As in bronchiectasis, in COPD attempts are being made to find biomarkers predictive of unfavorable course, exacerbations and QoL impairment (21)(22)(23).…”

“…[ 11 ] Clinically, patients with ITB are more likely to develop low fever, night sweats and potential respiratory symptoms than patients with IBD. [ 12 , 13 ] Patients with Crohn are more likely to have hematochezia than those with ITB. [ 14 , 15 ] In our study, 20% of the patients have clinical symptoms of bloody stool, which is different from the clinical manifestations of typical ITBs, [ 16 ] which is noteworthy.…”
