“…La révélation des lipoprotéines en électrophorèse libre est basée sur un procédé optique (Blix, Tiselius et Svensson, 1941). En électrophorèse de zone (sur papier, sur gel d'amidon, gel d'agarose ou acétate de cellulose) (Charman et Landowne, 1967), les lipoprotéines sont révélées par des colo rants spécifiques des graisses ; Soudan IV (Rosenberg, 1952) ou Scharlach, Soudan III, Noir Soudan (Swahn, 1952 ;Kunkel et Slater, 1952 ;Mac Donald, 1958 ; , Oil red O (Durrum, Paul et Smith, 1952, Jencke, Hyatt, Jetton, Mattingly et Durrum, 1956, Lees et Hatch, 1963 ; Lees et Frederickson, 1964). Au lieu de 2 constituants, Swahn (1953) croit pouvoir en distinguer 4 dans le sérum normal : le premier se situe entre l'albumine et les globulines alphaj et représente 30 % des lipoprotéines : il représente le groupe alpha ; un second peu important chez le sujet normal (3 % des lipo protéines) migre au niveau des alpha g-globulines : c'est la pré-beta-lipoprotéine de Lees et Fredrickson (1964) ; le troisième, représentant 60 % des LP est constitué par les beta-lipoprotéines ; le quatrième représente les chylomicrons dont la migration est inhibée par leur haute absorbabilité par le papier.…”
