Abstract:The present experiment explored the differential outcomes effect using "biologically neutral outcomes". Two groups of rats were exposed to a two-choice conditional discrimination procedure. Responses to one of two available levers in the presence of one visual stimulus and responses to the other lever in the presence of a second visual stimulus were reinforced with food pellets.
