Sesquiterpene

Abstract: Unter den etwa 4000 der heute bekannten terpenoiden Naturstoffe, deren Kohlenstoff‐Grundgerüst nach der „Isopren‐Regel”︁ in Isopentan‐Einheiten unterteilt werden kann (C10: Monoterpene; C15: Sesquiterpene; C20; Diterpene; C25; Sesterterpene; C30; Triterpene; Steroide; Carotinoide; Polyprene), bilden die Sesquiterpene mit etwa 1000 Verbindungen die größte Substanzgruppe.
