“…Drawing on a number of sources in management, and allied social sciences including economics and psychology (Cummings and Frost, 1995;Huang, 2007;Huff, 1999Huff, , 2008Kerlinger, 1995;Klein and Zedeck, 2004;Machi and McEvoy, 2008;Sutton and Staw, 1995;Zedeck, 2008) as well as our own experience as editors (Ahlstrom, 2011;Bruton, 2009) this paper provides a summary of the key items to which authors should pay particular attention in preparing empirical papers to enhance their publishability. This list, while not exhaustive, does provide some hints on what editors want and essential guidelines for prospective authors, while helping them avoid common problems (Ahlstrom, 2012b;Baruch et al, 2008;Huff, 1999Huff, , 2008Kilduff, 2007).
