Abstract:Background. Dysfunctional breathing -vocal cord dysfunction (VCD) or paradoxical vocal fold movement (PVFM) is inappropriate vocal fold movement. Adduction of the vocal folds appears during inspiration, resulting in dyspnea and inspiratory and sometimes expiratory stridor, and acute upper airway obstruction.
