Abstract:Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, mainly localized in the stomach. Most GIST derive from mutations in tyrosine kinase receptors (KIT) or platelet-derived growth factor receptor-α (PDGFRA).
