Show more

“…First, no randomized study has been conducted among GAD patients, despite the fact that they constitute a population at risk for developing benzodiazepine dependence and experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Results from a recent study using a single case design suggest that CBT, administered with gradual tapering, facilitates the cessation of benzodiazepines among patients with GAD (Gosselin, Ladouceur, Morin, Dugas, & Baillargeon, 2003). Second, the majority of clinical trials conducted until now have compared CBT plus gradual tapering with tapering alone.…”

“…The adjusted means for times 3 and 4 were comparable to the profile of a patient with a mild-level GAD (M ¼ 38.55; SD ¼ 10.14) [33]. (SE 4,11) 53,59 (SE 4,61) 48,14 (SE 4,60) 48,64 (SE 5,19) It is important to note that at baseline, scores were comparable to those for a university student population (M ¼ 25.03; SD ¼ 7.8) [35].…”

“…In fact, the anxiety component in workers with a persistent MSD is far from negligible. The prevalence of anxiety disorders in individuals with persistent pain is 35.1% compared to 18.1% in Americans as a whole [3]. Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is 2.5 times more prevalent in individuals with low back pain, i.e.…”
