“…Clinically, it is noteworthy that depression (Mayeux et al, 1981;Huber et al, 1988;Schiffer et a1.,1988), anxiety states (Stein et al, 1990), pain (Snider & Sandyk, 1987), anorexia and weight loss (Van der Linden et al, 1985;Paulson, 1986), sexual dysfunction (Singer et al, 1989;Lipe et al, 1990;Koller et al, 1990), and sleep disturbances (Kales et al, 1971;Nausieda et al, 19826;Lees et al, 1988) are common and often distressing symptoms in PD and only rarely improve or abate with anticholinergic agents or levodopa therapy (Paulson, 1986).
