Shadow wave function with a symmetric kernel

Abstract

A shadow wave function with an explicit symmetric kernel is introduced. As a consequence the atoms exchange in the system is enhanced. Basic properties of this class of trial functions are kept and quantities it can describe are easily estimated. The effectiveness of this approach is analized by computing properties of interest in a system formed from 4 He atoms.
