Shaping Sustainable Urban Environments by Addressing the Hydro-Meteorological Factors in Landslide Occurrence: Ciuperca Hill (Oradea, Romania)

Abstract: Romania is one of the countries severely affected by numerous natural hazards, where landslides constitute a very common geomorphic hazard with strong economic and social impacts. The analyzed area, known as the “Ciuperca Hill”, is located in Oradea (NW part of Romania) and it has experienced a number of landsliding events in previous years, which have endangered anthropogenic systems. Our investigation, focused on the main causal factors, determined that landslide events have rather complex components, reflec… Show more

“…Especially for tourism, the fear of infection strongly influences travel behaviors and daily travel activities (e.g., shopping routines, recreational activities, heritage explorations) [ 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 , 16 , 17 ]; concerns about infection rates and sociodemographic characteristics have been raised as factors influencing travel satisfaction [ 2 , 18 ]. Studies show that cases and deaths in the COVID-19 context are lower in countries where people travel less to other countries [ 8 , 19 , 20 ], while unrestrained mobility significantly accelerates the spread of COVID-19 [ 21 ].…”

“…A brief analysis of previous research demonstrates the considerable attention to studying the specific aspects of the green areas functioning. Much attention is paid to the study of certain aspects of sustainable urban development, including the planning structure of cities and the importance of recreational areas (Morar et al, 2016;Morar et al, 2019;Wolff and Haase, 2019;Snep et al, 2020;Morar et al, 2021a;Morar et al, 2021b;De Haas and Hassinkstuiver., 2021;Guenat et al, 2021;Rostang et al, 2021), implementation of the development strategies of Ukraine's regions ), and regional development on the whole (Niemets et al, 2019c). In particular, Barrera et al (2016) considered UGAs from the standpoint of the environmental framework of the territory.…”

“…However, some adjustment is required for calculating the R factor based on the MFI result [ 24 ]. The MFI was used to estimate catastrophic erosion by evaluating rainfall erosivity and its association with other meteorological factors [ 25 ]. Previously, the MFI was implemented in many parts of the world, as can be seen in Table 1 .…”
