Shaving

Abstract: Body depilation involves the reduction or removal of body hair from the neck down and is most often accomplished by women and men by shaving. The behavior is thought to be carried out to improve appearance and sexual attractiveness. Men are increasingly depilating at rates similar to those of women in North American, European, Australasian, and Asian cultures. Shaving is a body modification practice rooted in cultural norms, socialization, and individual preferences.
