Sheet Tensile Properties of Titanium Alloys as Affected by Texture

Abstract: A study was carried out on the effect of specimeh orientation on the sheet tensile properties of several titanium alloys. For these alloys, chemical analysis, microstructure, X-ray pole figures, and sheet tensile properties were determined at lO-depree increments from the rolling to the transverse direction. In addition to the conventional yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation values, strain gages were used to determine Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio.
