Shock and detonation of liquid nitric oxide

Abstract: A simple theoretical approach that was developed previously to calculate shock Hugoniot of simple dense fluids is used to calculate shocked states of liquid nitric oxide and liquid nitrogen-oxygen mixtures as well as the detonation wave structure of liquid nitric oxide. The theoretical calculations provide an adequate description of the shock compression and the detonation performance.
