“…Figure aims at assessing the current state of the art with regards to pentene isomers’ laminar flame speed measurements. The Cheng et al along with Zhong and Peng results at 350 K ± 3 K, 1 atm for 1-C 5 H 10 are compared in Figure a and match almost perfectly, while the Grégoire et al model reproduces the experimental measurements with great accuracy. A second example in Figure b shows that, at the same initial temperature (350 K ± 3 K) and at three different pressures (2, 3, and 4 atm, respectively), the flame speeds present a consistent increase as the pressure decreases when carried out in two separate experimental facilities.…”

“…A blend of pentene isomers found in a real gasoline was extensively studied experimentally, combining laminar flame speed, ignition delay time, and CO laser absorption measurements. The detailed chemical kinetics mechanism from Greǵoire et al 24 provided accurate predictions for all these new results. Two additional unbalanced mixtures removing either 2M2B (Mix B) or 2-C 5 H 10 (Mix C), to avoid the cancellation of kinetically opposite behaviors, were then carried out in the AST shock tube to obtain additional induction-time CO profiles.…”
