Short-Term Clinical and Return-to-Work Outcomes After Arthroscopic Suprapectoral Onlay Biceps Tenodesis With a Single Suture Anchor

Abstract: To describe short-term outcomes of arthroscopic suprapectoral onlay biceps tenodesis using a single allsuture anchor with respect to validated outcome measures, return to work, objective strength and motion data, and biceps-specific testing. Methods: This study describes a consecutive series of patients undergoing arthroscopic suprapectoral onlay biceps tenodesis performed by a single surgeon from January to December 2017. Patients were evaluated preoperatively and postoperatively with the American Shoulder an… Show more

“…We calculated total scores for comprehensibility and practicality, which were then converted into percentages by dividing them by the corresponding number of items. A higher percentage indicated a video with superior comprehensibility or practicality, thus providing a more accurate measure of its educational value [ 12 ].…”

“…In summary, the use of an all-suture anchor in biceps tenodesis has several advantages, and its application has been supported by several studies. With positive clinical outcome measures for biceps tenodesis techniques using all-suture anchors, 10,11 we can expect that using allsuture anchors for biceps tenodesis procedures will be more popular in the future.…”

“…The pathology of tendinopathy-related changes can be observed in any section of the tendon, including the intraarticular and the extraarticular, which are the most commonly affected [8]. These sections of the tendon are exposed to frequent load and friction and are the most common sites for degeneration, which is often concomitant with shoulder pathology [8][9][10][11].…”
