Short‐Term Regulation of Hydroxylase Cofactor Activity in Rat Brain

Abstract: Differential drug effects on hydroxylase cofactor activities were observed in the corpus striatum and the locus coeruleus when conditions of sacrifice were controlled. A conformational stability-dependent variable degree of stoichiometric coupling between quinonoid dihydropteridine reductase and tyrosine hydroxylase is proposed as a short-latency influence on hydroxylase cofactor levels.
