Abstract:<p>Exposure to asbestos is known for inducing inflammation, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer and malignant mesothelioma. Although several novel biomarkers and treatments are being tested, these chronic disorders are currently incurable, and the prognosis is particularly poor.
