“…The potential of Lamr as an important receptor protein for virus binding has drawn further interest to evaluate its interaction with other shrimp viruses, which include Penaeus stylirostris densovirus (PstDNV), white spot syndrome virus (WSSV), infectious myonecrosis virus (IMNV), Macrobrachium rosenbergii nodavirus ( Mr NV) and yellow head virus (YHV). The application of yeast two‐hybrid assay revealed specific interaction between Lamr with IMNV and YHV capsid/envelop protein, but negative towards the capsid/envelop proteins of Mr NV, PstDNV and WSSV (Busayarat et al., ). These in vitro findings putatively ruled out the involvement of Lamr in Mr NV binding in M. rosenbergii , but a conclusive in vivo verification is recommended.…”

“…2). Senapin and Phongdara (2006); Busayarat et al (2011) have suggested that laminin receptor is the shrimp cell receptor for TSV. This laminin specifically binds to TSV-CP2 (Senapin and Phongdara, 2006), suggesting that the CP2 protein is critical for the virus attachment to the shrimp cell.…”

“…In addition, laminin receptor may contribute in bacterial and viral infection (Fülöp and Larbi, 2002;Senapin and Phongdara, 2006). In penaeid prawns, laminin receptor was observed to bind to viral protein (VP) of Taura syndrome virus (TSV), yellow head virus (YHV) and infectious myonecrosis virus (IMNV) (Busayarat et al, 2011;Senapin and Phongdara, 2006). Up-regulation of laminin receptor was found in WSSV-infected redclaw crayfish (Liu et al, 2011), suggesting this receptor has protective function against viral infections in decapod crustacea through binding to viral enveloped proteins that prevents viruses binding to target host cells (Busayarat et al, 2011;Liu et al, 2011).…”
