Shrinkage characteristics of a novel lower contractile acrylic pattern resin

Abstract: Forming models and brazing parts, both of which require high accuracy, are greatly affected the polymerization shrinkage of pattern resin. In 2018, a lower-shrinkage autopolymerizing pattern resin (PRK) was introduced. In this work, we compared the rate of polymerization shrinkage between PRK with that of three autopolymerizing resins -GC Pattern Resin (GPR), Pi-Ku Plast (PIK), and Fixpeed (FIX)-as controls. The shrinkage percentages at 10 min were 7.26±0.88 for PRK, 10.78±2.28 for GPR, 8.03±1.08% for PIK, and… Show more

“…Programming can be applied not only in structural analysis of the RCs used in this experiment, but also in a wide range of fields, including measurement of the size of zirconia particles, analysis of metallographic structure, and cell counting in biochemistry. In fact, Hori et al 29) reported the determination of polymer particle size by a programming method. These flexible approaches are used frequently not only in research but also in the clinical setting for diagnosis, and so programming has a broad scope of application.…”

“…Research has shown that no stresses should be exerted on the implants in order to preserve the health of the tissues around the final implant-supported prostheses [22]. Researchers have concluded that the passivity of the implantsupported prosthesis is an important prerequisite for achieving an implant with proper longevity and for counteracting problems after the delivery of the prosthesis such as screw loosening, screw fracture and bone loss around the implant; however, achieving a prosthesis with completely passive fit is almost impossible [23].…”
