Sign Language Translation via DRT and HPSG

Abstract: We present an overview of the language-processing component of an English-Text to Sign-Languages translation system1, concentrating on the role of Discourse Representation Structures as the intermediate semantic representation and the use of HPSG for synthesis of equivalent signed sequences. A short introduction to the main characteristics of Sign Languages is also presented
