Next Generation Network (NGN) faces the challenge of the rapidly increasing amount of signaling. The growing amount of signaling is a consequence of several reasons arising from the fact that signaling is the main source of network intelligence, analysis, and user behavior monitoring. With the increase in signaling load and complexity, the network management becomes a challenging issue that can impact overall Quality of Service (QoS). To confront this issue, there is a need for reliable and forehand signaling transmission in NGN. As there is much confusion about the interpretation of this concept, this paper aims to provide an overview of the evolution of signaling transmission. Migration towards NGN is analyzed from the signaling perspective. The NGN signaling protocols and related transmission requirements are identified. Through the discussion of standard approaches, the paper considers our previously published approach to signaling transmission along with the current issues and emerging opportunities.

The subject of the study is multiservice communication network using the concept NGN (Next Generation Network) based on the open network architecture IMS (Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem), supporting a wide range of services. The basis of this architecture is the IMS core, consisting of a set of specialized modules responsible for various functions for customer service. The purpose of the article is to analyze the existing technical capabilities of the IMS multimedia messaging subsystem and perspective solutions for the functioning of the NGN/IMS network efficiency in providing multimedia services. The effectiveness NGN/IMS networks during the establishment of a multimedia session was analyzed and the functional architecture of the IMS multimedia messaging subsystem that determine the interaction of NGN signaling systems an protocols was explored. One of the important requirements for the IMS subsystem is the maintenance QoS (Quality of Service). A mathematical model for estimating the quality of communication services using a system бн N G GI / 1 / / based on the theory of diffusion approximation is proposed. On the basis of the model analytical expressions are obtained, which allow evaluating the performance indicators of the Triple Play service.

From the above examples, we would like to remark that in modern telecommunication networks there must be a mechanism to establish a service as easily as possible; this fundamental mechanism is actually hidden from users. Also, it is a network on its own, with users (usually the real end users) and specific protocols 2 called signaling protocols, which will be discussed in detail in section 1.5.Finally, we consider the classification of telecommunication services according to their communication mode. Here we have interactive services and broadcast services.
