Abstract:We characterize topological features of Josephson junctions formed by coupled mesoscopic chiral p-wave superconducting islands. Through analytic and numerical studies of the low-lying BdG (Bogoliubov-deGennes) spectrum, we identify localized MBS (Majorana bound states) nucleated in Josephson vortices by the application of a perpendicular magnetic field. Additionally, we demonstrate the existence of an extended MBS that is delocalized around the outer perimeter of the coupled islands, which has measurable conse… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
