“…There are a lot of scientific studies that researched possible methods of improving air force organization and operations that perform airspace control and protection in peace, in case of potential appearance of asymmetric airspace threats. For example 14 , studies have been conducted about the possibility of improving effectiveness, efficiency, flexibility and interoperability of Serbian Air Defense System during the performance of air traffic management tasks in the Republic of Serbia and the region 15 . The importance of the anti-aircraft missile units in improving the safety of the Republic of Serbia airspace was examined, as well as the economic viability of the performance of the airspace protection exclusively by these units.…”

“…It is obvious that the experts believe that the tendency of the radar acquisition should be focused on increasing spatial performance, which would reduce the number of radar units. Moreover, according to the expert opinion, it is necessary to significantly increase the ability of time performance, or rapid reaction of the entire air defence system in the case of aviation violation (Petrović et al, 2015).…”

“…The possibilities and goals of improving the air defence system including anti-aircraft units were reseached by Petrović et al (2015). The determination and evaluation of the criteria for the selection of anti-aircraft missile systems by the DEMATEL method were researched by Petrović & Kankaraš (2017).…”

“…Namely, not only that air and air defense operations, i.e. forces that carry out operations, influence the outcome of contemporary armed conflicts, but also at the same time, they change the basic characteristics of armed conflicts, with particular emphasis on asymmetry and nonlinearity which are new characteristics of contemporary armed conflicts [6]. This is the consequence of the growing imbalance between conflicting adversaries in components that determine the outcome of the conflict (political, economic, military, diplomatic component).…”
