Abstract:Thraustochytrids are multicellular fungal-like aquatic protists that originate all over the ocean. They're renowned for producing higher-value omega-3 polyunsaturated dietary fats (-3-PUFAs), such as docosahexaenoic acids (DHA), along with hydrolytic enzymes.
