“…The ECG of patients with TTC was most similar to the ECGs of patients with spontaneous reperfusion of the LAD prior to angiography [30]. The presence of transient pathological Q waves in patients who have had a MI is associated with small infarct size, a large amount of stunned myocardium and less necrotic myocardial tissue [31]. However, the outcomes of Ibenez et al have not been confirmed in other studies on TTC, and the reperfusion theory and the long wrapped LAD theory are not based on the evidence.…”

“…However, in some cases, this Q wave may disappear partially or completely during the evolution of myocardial infarction. Recent studies disclose that the regression of Q wave may indicate a smaller amount of necrotic myocardium and a larger amount of stunned myocardium [15,16]. The mechanism of preoperative pathologic Q wave in ALCAPA is thought to represent an associated anterolateral infarct [7].…”

“…9,15 A recent study reported that patients with anterior myocardial infarction showing R-wave reappearance had a trend towards a smaller amount of necrotic myocardium and a significantly larger amount of stunned myocardium. 16 It is possible that myocardial viability may play an important role on the inverse relationship between the R-wave amplitude and exercise-induced ST-segment elevation in the aVL lead.…”
