Abstract: Phytotoxicity of trace elements (commonly misunderstood as ‘heavy metals’) includes impairment of functional groups of enzymes, photo-assembly, redox homeostasis, and nutrient status in higher plants. Silicon nanoparticles (SiNPs) can ameliorate trace element toxicity.
