Abstract:The expansion of the wavelength tunable range of wavelength tunable laser diodes is required in optical communication and sensing. Curved directional couplers (DCs) exhibit smaller power coupling efficiency fluctuations than conventional straight DCs, which reduces the wavelength sensitivity of double-ring wavelength filters. In this study, we fabricated a hybrid wavelength tunable laser diode comprising curved DCs with an improved design. This laser diode had a tunable range of 145.2 nm, which is the broadest… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
