Silver‐Loaded Bio‐Structured Carbon/Cadmium Sulfide Lamellar Composites with Enhanced Photocatalysis under Visible Light

Abstract: A silver (Ag)-loaded biostructured carbon/cadmium sulfide (CdS) lamellar composite photocatalyst was synthesized using a hydrothermal and photodeposition method. Camellia petals functioned both as a biological layered template and as a source of carbon. The prepared composite photocatalyst demonstrated good absorption under visible light and exhibited excellent photocatalytic degradation performance. The photocatalytic degradation efficiency of the obtained 457 composites substantially improved compared with p… Show more

“…Among them, χ is the electronegativity of the material; E normale is the energy of free electrons at the hydrogen standard potential (about 4.5 eV). [ 39 ] According to the literature reports, the χ of g‐C 3 N 4 is 4.64 eV, [ 40 ] and the E VB of g‐C 3 N 4 is calculated to be +1.36 eV and E CB to be −1.07 eV, while SnS 2 has E VB of +2.13 eV and E CB of −0.15 eV.…”
