Silver Nanocomposites Decorated Reduced Graphene Oxide Nanosheets for Electrochemical Sensor Applications

Abstract: Recently, metal nanoparticles incorporated carbon nanostructures have tremendous applications in the field of nanosensor and technologies. In the proposed work, silver nanoparticles (Ag) decorated reduced graphene oxide nanosheets (rGONS) (rGONS-Ag) are synthesized and developed for the sensitive detection of ortho-Nitrophenol (o-NP) using electrochemical techniques. The rGONS-Ag nanocomposites are synthesized through chemical reduction method. The physical and electrochemical behaviour of the synthesized rGON… Show more

“…According to previous studies, the reduction in H 2 O 2 in the CV test is associated with the more activated sites, which were decomposed or consumed, thereby leading to the imbalance for redox efflux [69,70]. The increment of the GO-Ag NPs peak to −0.3 mV compared with −0.1 mV in Ag NPs might occur because the enhancement of area surface facilitates the electron transfer process to the electrode [71]. To examine this point, DCFH-DA was applied as an ROS indicator with E. coli bacteria.…”

“…The distribution of AuNPs anchored on the surface of GNs can be seen from the low magnification SEM image of as-synthesised GNs-AuNPs/EG hybrid nanofluid. The observed bright spots could be attributed to the formation of metal nanoparticles on the surface of graphene 26 . The SEM images of both GNs-AuNPs/EG and AuNPs/EG nanofluids shows Au particles agglomeration.…”

“…The broad bands observed in the region 3765-3371 and at 1573 cm −1 could be assigned to OH stretching and bending vibrations. 10 The band appeared at 1639 cm −1 corresponds to the O-H stretching vibrations, and the bands observed at 1388 and 1053 cm −1 are due to O-H deformation and C-O of alkoxy vibrations of GO, respectively. Figure 2b shows that the bands appeared at 615.1 and 501 cm −1 are assigned to the stretching vibration of Y-O of Y 2 O 3 nanocomposites.…”

“…6 GO/yttrium oxide (GO/Y 2 O 3 ) nanocomposites are prepared by simple chemical precipitation method by taking 100 mg of GO in 60 ml of distilled water and yttrium oxide in the ratio of 2:1 into the dispersed solution and stirred for 7 h at 60 C. This homogenous solution is kept undisturbed for 12 h at room temperature. The precipitate is washed with distilled water and ethanol and is dried at 80 C. 7…”
