Simple GUI Wireless Controller of Quadcopter

Abstract:

This paper presents the development of remotely operated Quadcopter system. The Quadcopter is controlled through a graphical user interface (GUI) where the communication between GUI and Quadcopter is constructed by using wireless communication system. The Quadcopter balancing condition is sensed by FY90 controller and IMU 5DOF sensor. For smooth landing, Quadcopter is equipped with ultrasonic sensor. All signals from sensors are processed by Arduino Uno microcontroller board and output from the Ardui… Show more

“…Data acquisition during field tests have been done using telemetry and the Mission Planner open source software [33]. In this case, telemetry was used as a wireless data transmission between the ground station and the quadcopter [34], while Mission Planner was used to reading the data [35][36][37]. The data retrieval result can be seen in Figure 8.…”

“…In 2012, a low-cost hover control mechanism was developed and implemented on a low-cost microcontroller for a quadcopter [12]. Hanafi et al [13] presented the development of remotely controlled quadcopter system through a Graphical User Interface (GUI) where the communication between GUI and quadcopter is constructed by using wireless communication system. In this paper, remote presence was implemented to control a quadcopter (AR Drone 2.0) [14] by the Emotiv EPOC [15] device.…”
