Simplified Turbidimetric Determination of Apolipoproteins A-I, A-II and B Using a Microtitre Method

Abstract: Summary: A turbidimetric method is described for the determination of apolipoproteins A-I, A-II and B on microtitre plates.Regression analysis of the resulting values showed a good correlation to apolipoprotein values determined turbidimetrically on Cobas Bio (apolipoprotein A-I, A-II), and those determined by means of radial immuno diffusion (RID) (apolipoprotein A-I: r = 0.93, y = 1.02 χ -5.0, η = 63; apolipoprotein A-II: r = 0.90, y = 1.07x -5.6, n = 44; apolipoprotein B: r = 0.92, y = 0.95 χ + 9.0, η = 58)… Show more

“…31 Apolipoproteins were measured by Dr A. von Eckardstein at the Institut fur Klinische Chemie und Laboratoriumsmedizin, Munster, FRG, by using a turbidimetric method on microtiter plates as described. 32 Lipoprotein and apolipoprotein values obtained at the two sampling days at the end of each dietary period were averaged for data analyses.…”

“…Concentrations of apo A-I, apo A-II, and apo B were determined with a modified commercially available turbidimetric assay (Boehringer Mannheim). 47 Apo A-IV was quantified by electroimmunodiffusion and a rabbit anti-human apo A-IV antiserum. 48 The serum concentration of HDL containing apo A-I but not apo A-II (Lp A-I) was determined with a commercially available electroimmunodiffusion assay (Sebia).…”
