Abstract:An automated procedure for the design of an optimized (for both configuration and operating point) anaerobic digestion system is presented. The procedure is based on modern nonlinear programming algorithms and numerical models of the various system components (biological, thermal, and economic). The model simulates yearly digester system operation, and uses this to calculate the after-tax net present value for a particular system design. The optimal design is found using BIAS, a method of multipliers code. Sub… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
