Simulation of Land Use Based on Multiple Models in the Western Sichuan Plateau

Abstract: Many single-land-use simulation models are available to simulate and predict Land Use and Land Cover Change (LUCC). However, few studies have used multiple models to simulate LUCC in the same region. The paper utilizes the CA-Markov model, Land Change Modeler (LCM), and Patch-generating Land Use Simulation model (PLUS) with natural and social driving factors to simulate the LUCC on the Western Sichuan Plateau, using Kappa coefficient, overall accuracy (OA), and Figure of Merit (FoM) to verify the accuracy of t… Show more

“…CA-Markov combines the dual advantages of simulating complex spatial dynamic changes through Cellular Automata (CA) models and making long-term predictions using Markov models. The model is widely applied in simulating the dynamic changes in land use and cover structures over long sequences [29,42,43].…”

“…The CA-Markov model is also one of the more accurate prediction methods currently available. Gasirabo et al Predictive assessment of land use in Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh, using CA-Markov modeling [59]. Amir Siddique et al, in their study of Beijing's urban heat, also used the CA-Markov model to predict Beijing's land use for the period 2004-2050 [60].…”
