Simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid and acetaminophen at the pre-anodized inlaying ultrathin carbon paste electrode

Abstract: A pre-anodized inlaying ultrathin carbon paste electrode (PAIUCPE) was constructed using simple and fast electrochemical pretreatment for the simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid (AA) and acetaminophen (ACOP). The effect of pH on peak current and peak potential for the oxidation of AA and ACOP was discussed in detail. The results showed that the size of i p of AA and ACOP was closely related to the degree of oxygen reduction reaction at the auxiliary electrode. In pH 5.00 phosphate buffer solution, a li… Show more

“…It could be seen that our sensor revealed a wider linear range and a lower detection limit, which might since the high ESA of HKUST-1 modication provided more active sites available for electrocatalysis and the nanosheet framework structure of HKUST-1 accelerated the electron transfer between AA and electrode surface. 19,47,[55][56][57][58][59][60][61][62] 3.10. “…18 Beyond these, electrochemical techniques are oen applied, which are easy to implement and not expensive. 19 With modied electrode surface, the electrochemical response is promoted enormously, and the lower limit of detection (LOD) and wider linear range are accessed. 20 Nevertheless, the sensitivity and reproducibility usually tend to be the issue because of interference from other biological molecules like dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA), leading to the challenge of employment in food, drug or real sample analysis.…”

“…This because it is not only the most common anti‐oxidant, but is also present in mammalian brain along with several neurotransmitters, so its determination is also crucial in the medical field. Electrochemical methods for its determination were recently reviewed , nevertheless many others were proposed since then . Many of these methods allow the determination of ascorbic acid in the presence of several other analytes, more commonly uric acid and dopamine since they are co‐existing in biological matrixes and they are oxidized at almost the same potential at traditional electrode materials.…”

Other methods were demonstrated successfully for mixture of ascorbic acid with some drugs , especially acetaminophen or components regulating the physiological function of organisms .…”
