“…Haishima et al demonstrated that PVC plasticizers, including a 6-carbon ring such as DEHP, had an effective role in suppressing blood cell hemolysis [27]. Moreover, Miller et al reported that adding small amounts of DEHP to red blood cells reduced their hemolysis to 20%, which were preserved at 4°C for 35 days [28,29]. The present study confirms these results.…”

“…The extensive production and use of plastic materials have resulted in environmental contamination and increased concern about human exposure. Potential exposure to DEHP occurs through the use of plastic for food packaging, medicinal devices, personal care products, and household plastic essentials [38][39][40][41]. A recent study, reported DEHP accounts for highest dietary phthalate exposure in Chinese population which is as much as three time higher than that of Europe and America [42].…”

“…After a deep investigation, we concluded that this contamination resulted from the LC-system, probably from the leaching of DEHT contained in the HPLC tubings. This phenomenon was avoided by connecting a C18 trap column (100 × 2.1 mm i.d., 5 μm) between the solvent mixing chamber and the injector of the HPLC apparatus, as suggested by Descat et al [ 24 ] for DEHP analysis. No change in the chromatographic parameters was observed.…”
