Abstract:Laparoscopic adjustable banding was previously considered to be the safest and least invasive technique in bariatric surgery in the mid-1990s. It has since been performed less frequently as newer bariatric interventions and surgical techniques, and a fuller understanding of gastric banding complications have been elucidated.
