Simultaneous Longitudinal and Lateral Flight Control Systems Design for Both Passive and Active Morphing TUAVs

Abstract: In this article, simultaneous longitudinal and lateral flight control systems design for both passive and active morphing tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (TUAVs) is first time applied for autonomous flight performance maximization in the literature. For this purpose longitudinal and lateral dynamics modelling of TUAVs produced in Erciyes University, Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Model Aircraft Laboratory are considered in order to obtain simulation environments. Our produced TUAV is called as ZANK… Show more

“…Turbulence environment is also taken into account and there is also a 1 degree saturation function on the aileron control surface. The results obtained during the simultaneous design were found and also the closed loop responses were obtained in the presence of atmospheric turbulence [13]. In Figure 5, minimization of cost function, relative energy saving and final trajectory tracking results are given.…”

“…In expansion, it is not possible to calculate nonlinear complex components logically contained within the streamlined strengths. For this reason, stochastic estimation strategies are utilized [3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10].…”

“…This paper provides a review of the latest technology in morphing aircraft and focuses on structural, deforming morphing concepts for fixed wings, particularly with reference to active systems. Researchers have carried out many studies on the modeling and control of unmanned aerial vehicles [8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15].…”
