Abstract:In this investigation, polystyrene (PS) nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning for the adsorption of naphthalene (Nap), phenanthrene (Phe), and pyrene (Pyr) from an aqueous solution. Surface morphology and physicochemical characteristics of PS nanofibers were analyzed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and point-of-zero-charge calorimetry (pH pzc ). The effects of pH, ion concentration, and temperature on the adsorption were also investigated. The adsorption mechanism of target pollutan… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
