Abstract:We report single crystal growth of a non-centrosymmetric heavy-fermion paramagnet UPt 5 and its strongly-correlated electronic state investigated by the de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) effect. UPt 5 crystallizes in a non-centrosymmetric cubic structure with the space group of F43m which is same as the well-known zinc-blende-or half-Heusler-type structure. We discuss detected dHvA frequencies based on the "orbital crossing" and the magnetic breakdown of the split hole Fermi surfaces pair. We also performed the energy… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
