Single Current Sensor-Based Speed Sensorless Vector Controlled PMSM Drive

Abstract: Single current sensor-based speed sensorless vector controlled PMSM ("Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor") drive is presented in this paper. Speed, position, and currents are estimated using single current sensor information of 3-Π€ PMSM drive. 2-Π€ currents in the π‘‘π‘ž βˆ’ π‘Žπ‘₯𝑒𝑠 are calculated and closed in the loop using 𝑖 * and a phase current information obtained from the single current sensor. The proposed method applies to all types of 3-Π€ PMSM; current estimation is independent of machine parameters and… Show more

“…The current sensor plays a crucial role in the PMSM drive control system; it feeds the sampled phase current information back to the current loop, and the accuracy of phase current sampling directly affects the stability of the PMSM drive control system [ 31 , 32 ]. During long term operation, the performance of PMSM can be affected by various environmental factors such as vibration impact, high and low temperature, humidity, and dust.…”
