Single phase doubly salient permanent magnet generator with full-pitched winding

Abstract: The conventional doubly salient permanent magnet (DSPM) machine has concentrated windings in stator and unipolar flux linkage. This paper presents a novel single phase DSPM generator with full-pitched winding, offering higher efficiency and less copper consumption. The static characteristics of the proposed DSPM generator are analyzed based on the finite element method. It is shown that the full-pitched DSPM generator holds bipolar flux linkage, while the power output capacity keeps the same as the concentrate… Show more

“…However, it is very difficult to accommodate both the armature windings and DC exciting windings into same stator slots of the DSPM machine. Hence, a new DSPM machine with full-pitched windings (also calls full-pitched DSPM machine) is discussed in [11][12], as shown in Fig. 1(b).…”

“…Recently, a new type permanent magnet (PM) machine, doubly salient permanent magnet (DSPM) machine has attracted more attention due to high performance, such as low inertia, high power density and high reliability [5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]. In [7], A 8/6-pole DSPM machine is discussed and compared with 6/4-pole DSPM machine.…”
