Single phase grid-connected PV inverter applying a boost coupled inductor

Abstract: In this paper, a single-phase grid-connected inverter applying a boost coupled inductor is proposed for photovoltaic (PV) generation system and PV grid connected systems to enhance integration of a Single phase inverter with Photovoltaic panel to form independent embedded photovoltaic modules. DC 20V to 40V is boosted up to DC 400V, successfully inverted to AC 220V.This will efficiently convert solar energy into electrical energy to comply with the requirements of the local load, or connect the converted elect… Show more

“…The passive components have been reduced by replacing the ZSI with multi-level inverters (MLIs) [17][18][19][20][21][22]. Further, a few state-of-the-art structures employ switched-capacitor inverters to boost low-level DC to high voltage AC in a single stage [22][23][24][25]. However, these inverters provide boosting, proportional to the number of semiconductors employed, i.e., more switches are employed to generate a higher level of AC voltage.…”

“…Several single-stage boost inverters have been proposed [23][24][25][26]. The boost Inverter proposed in [18] and further detailed in [19] delivers low total harmonic distortion (THD) double boosted output voltage.…”

“…A PV array with a DC link has a major advantage of autonomous control for the different conversion stages along with low complexity as compared with pseudo DC link and no DC link configurations. A PV grid‐connected system with coupled inductor is proposed in [5]. An attempt is made to overcome the drawback of low PV voltage per panel with the use of coupled inductor.…”

“…Due to the use of this type of energies, researchers and the industry had a great deal of development in the process of interfacing between these energies and the electrical grid or different AC/DC loads. These methods varied, as the first solution was to use two-stage [4,5], the first stage from DC to DC with the possibility of boosting and the second stage for inverting from DC to AC, but the high cost and the increase in the number of circuit components used were the most important reasons for using the second solution, which is to use only single stage that works the two functions, which is the DC-DC and DC-AC. The initial view of using this model of connection was by gathering a large number of photovoltaic cells in series, and this was exposed to many problems, especially when the group was exposed to shadows [6][7][8].…”
